FUN THINGS TO DO WITH LIGHT STICKS
Chemical Light Sticks
Snap Light Sticks are a great safety device to carry camping, hiking, and in the car. However, they can also be used in some fun and entertaining ways.
Some Fun, Creative and Practical Uses of Light Sticks:
- Place in empty water bottles and float in your pool for parties
- Attach to helium filled balloons at night - tether around your home or yard to light up your party.
- Attach to model airplanes (be aware of any ordinances or regulations regarding flying such craft at night)
- Attach to kites.
- Use groups of them attached to costumes for halloween or other costume needs
- String on a string and hang around rooms and patios for parties
- Attach to caps or hats
- Use to create subtle colored lighting for photos. This can give a look from high tech to eerie. See our example at the top of the page which was first released with the statement: Alien eggs found incubating in Arizona.
- Place inside of ice sculptures or in the bottom of ice buckets for a cool glow. Even though the sticks are non-toxic, it isn't recommend you put them with any unsealed food stuff.
- Place several on your address to let party goers know they are at the right location.
- Mark doors, walkways, and steps for parties.
- Place on paths for night time journeys so you can find you way back.
- Use a very small one on a fishing line for night time fishing.
- Give a different color to each group involved in a night time activity. This will allow parents or chaperons to easily spot who belongs where.
- Attach to bicycles, strollers, wagons, and other similar items for night time safety.
- Mark tables or seating allowing various individuals to quickly know where they should be.
- Mark holes or other dangers in a path when leading a group down a path at night
- Mark you pack or other equipment when in the dark and you have to temporarily leave it. It will be easy to spot when you return to the area even if you don't have any other light source on.
- Celebrate the Fourth of July without dangerous fireworks. Decorate yourself and your house with red, white and blue light sticks.
