DeWalt 12 Volt Battery for Tools and Lights

DeWalt Batteries for Power Tools and Lighting Accessories:

We have used DeWalt portable power tools with DeWalt batteries for well over a decade. In fact , some of the batteries purchased over ten years ago are just now running out of steam. Yes, in time, all rechargeable batteries will die. DeWalt makes their batteries in various sizes. In order to achieve longer operating time, the voltage has gradually climbed. The large 18 Volt driven tools are not always ideal for everyone. If you are mainly drilling pilot holes or driving smaller screws overhead, the additional weight of the larger batteries may prove to be a disadvantage to you. We have drilled hundreds of holes and screwed thousands of deck screws using a 12 Volt drill. You simply need to pick the best tool for the job. Our only complaint with DeWalt batteries over our long history of using them is the release mechanism which holds them to the tool. In time, they loose their springiness and perhaps get fine debris in them. But at times, older batteries can be down right difficult to remove from the tool. In regards to ruggedness, we have never had any battery break from drops or bangs against hard surfaces. A DeWalt tool with a DeWalt battery should bring you many years of service.

DeWalt is the premiere commercial tool line of Black and Decker. One will see many similarities in the product families.

Cons

  • Battery Release tends to become difficult to operate in time.
