Cobra "Zip-It":

I kept seeing these advertised and finally purchased one when the tub that I use to give my dog a bath seemed to always run slow. It is basically a long flat plastic strip containing pointed edged in one direction. Thus one can slip it in the drain and when pulled out with the integrated handle, the pointed edges will snag hair and other debris in the drain.

Slowly guide the device into the drain. Pull out slowly. I was able to wipe off the debris using a wad of paper towels or an absorbent rag rubbing away from the sharp prongs. I would also wear protective gloves if you do this. The last thing you want to do is to cut yourself with a device which is covered with sewage from your drain. Cobra recommends disposing of the device after use and not attempting to clean it.. I repeated the insertion and removal until no major amount of debris was extracted when removed. I saw an immediate improvement in the flow of water into the drain.

I followed up with a common chemical drain cleaner allowing it to sit for fifteen minutes and then washed with plenty of hot water. As per the Cobra warning, do not use the Cobra tool after you have used a chemical cleaner. Pulling the Cobra cleaner out with a chemical cleaner still in the drain could cause chemicals remaining in the drain to splash on your skin or eyes. And be sure to keep these away from children. The barbs are on the device are sharp.
